A shower of stars for the Institut Paul Bocuse alumni

On March 22nd, the great selection of the French Michelin Guide was revealed during a ceremony in Cognac presented by Gwendal Poullennec. Each year, the famous red gastronomic guide, rewards the best restaurants with one, two or three stars. In 2022, 41 restaurants have earned their 1st star.

6 restaurants have been rewarded with 2 stars : 

  • Philip Chronopoulos, Palais Royal Restaurant, Paris 1er
  • Bruno Verjus, Table, Paris 12e
  • David Bizet, L’Oiseau Blanc au Peninsula Paris, Paris 16e
  • Jérôme Schilling, Lalique au Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey, Bommes, Gironde, 33
  • Pierre Gagnaire, Duende à l’Imperator, Nîmes, Gard, 30
  • Marcel Ravin, Le Blue Bay au Monte-Carlo Bay, Monaco, 98

2 new restaurants have been rewarded with 3 stars :

  • Arnaud Donckele, Plénitude au Cheval Blanc Paris, Paris 1er
  • Dimitri Droisneau, La Villa Madie, Cassis, Bouches-du-Rhône, 13

Philip Chronopoulos, graduated in 2006 earnS his 2nd star at  Palais Royal Restaurant, Paris 1er

Philip Chronopoulos is a 33 years-old young greek chef. Graduated from the Institut Paul Bocuse in 2006, his career has been marked by experiences in prestigious restaurants before taking in charge the kitchen of Palais Royal Restaurant.

 

 

Jean Imbert, graduated in 2001 earnS his 1st star at Plaza Athénée, Paris 8e

Elected Chef of Year  in 2019 by GQ and ranked among the 50 most influent French person by Vanity Fair, Jean Imbert, has taken over the Plaza Athénée in which he brings a new energy with his vision of  great French cuisine.

Congratulation as well to Benjamin Chmura, graduated in 2009, who alongside Chef Matthias Hahn has been rewarded 2 stars in the German selection of the Michelin Guide 2022, earlier in the month for his restaurant , Le « Tantris », in Munich.

In 2020, Saisons became the first school restaurant rewarded with a star in France. Today, also part of the Relais & Chateaux association, it keeps his 1-star for the 3rd year in a row. A reward for the young and talented team of passionate people lead by Chef Florian Pansin. Congratulation to Christian NEE, (MOF 2004), Chien Yuan CHEN, Loïc VALENTIN, Arnaud MONTROBERT, Kévin JAILLET, Kelly GEOFFRAY and  to all students, who  train each year in the restaurant.

Since 1997, the Michelin Guide rewards chefs and restaurants that offer a complete, high-quality and reasonable price with the “Bib Gourmand”.
